Russian Cossacks high-kick their way to Hall for Cornwall
The sensational Moscow-based Russian Cossack State Dance Company is coming direct from the Edinburgh Military Tattoo to Hall for Cornwall in September with incredible acrobatic feats in a dance spectacular.
Widely acknowledged as Russia’s premier Cossack dance troupe, this world-class company of 40 dancers, musicians and singers brings with it a dynamic and breathtaking production that will both dazzle and delight the county’s theatregoers.
The company has previously appeared at the Edinburgh Tattoo in 2001 and completed a season for Sadlers Wells in London. Following two successful UK tours in 2003 and 2004 the Cossacks return this autumn to bring their spectacular show to regional parts of the UK.
The group, dressed in wonderful costumes, will perform an exciting two-hour programme that portrays all the boisterous courage of the Cossacks through a kaleidoscope of sound and movement. They will retell tales of battle, glory, love and betrayal through inspired dancing and thundering rhythms.
Renowned for their strength and athleticism, the Cossacks dance with vigour, sparkle and spontaneity, but behind each performance lies many hours of strenuous rehearsals and strong self-discipline, all under the watchful eye of their artistic director Leonid Milovanov.
Unrivalled in their field, the Cossacks will captivate audiences at Hall for Cornwall with the ultimate in folklore presentation.
The performance takes place from 7.30pm on Wednesday, September 14. Tickets cost £19.50 and £17.50 plus 50p Theatre Fund payment with concessions available – contact the box office on 01872 262466
